The student-theater group at the University of Richmond, called the Richmond Players, produces a haunted house every year around Halloween. The theme in 2022 was ‘CarnEvil,’ and began as a light, fun experience that darkened as it proceeded. This provided me the opportunity to use a lot of color, and I also explored new angles and positions for light, causing disorientation and effecting the visitors’ mental states.
